Chance Encounters | Asher + Clarisse

Asher walked through the halls of Hogwarts feeling nostalgia sweep through him. It had been six years since he was last in this school. He was always proud to have the lion on his chest. His heels clicked on the marble floor as he made his way to his new office. He didn’t want to replace Madame Pomfrey, she had been there too long, but there was an agreement for her to take a small vacation this year. She will be back next year and they will be working together. Asher adored the older woman as she trained him in his time at the school. He was happy to give her the time she needed away from the castle.

He opened the large doors to the hospital wing and made sure everything was in place. Going by every bed, checking the room partitions, and all of his supplies. His smile grew as he shed his suit jacket. He moved into his office and sat in front of a mound of paperwork. He had so much to fill out, even though he was officially an employee of Hogwarts. He picked up his quill and began to sign many of the papers in front of him. His mind began to wander to his family. This year was going to be a difficult year for all the older Gatsby men. Sam was finally in the place he has always wanted to be, the Arthimancy teacher of this school, and Thatcher couldn’t let him have that. He was now overseeing the classes. He needed to be the go between the two males.

Taking a break from all the paperwork, he summoned a cup of coffee and began to roll up his sleeves. His black button up shirt was crisp except the wrinkles now created by him rolling the sleeves above his elbow. Asher was always put together. Deciding that he would maybe see one student at most today, he loosened the tie around his neck and slipped it around his head. He unbuttoned the top button and drank from his cup slowly. Eventually a student will burn themselves in Potions or fall off their broom in Flying practice. He just had to wait them out.

The sound of the large oak doors opening, Asher drank from his cup again and stood up to see who came in. He came around the corner with a  small smile on his face. “Hello. How can I help you?”
